In previous volume (Food Wars Vol. 14), the stagiaire period has completed and everyone returns to the Polar Star Dorm. When Soma arrives at the dorm, a lot of shokugeki invitations have been sent to him.
The next event will be autumn-leaf viewing where the current members of the Tootsuki Elite Ten will meet face to face with the top high school division first year students. Soma is eager to have a shokugeki and he wants to challenge the eighth seat of the Tootsuki Elite, Kuga Terunori. Kuga’s specialty is Chinese cuisine. With his culinary skill, reputation, resources, and the strategic place of his booth, he is capable enough to attract a lot of customers during The Academy Festival. Soma’s specialty is not Chinese cuisine and he is lacking of reputation to attract more customers. He doesn’t have enough resources to cook at least 1000 dishes on that day. How Soma is going to win this against Kuga?
I’m speechless and felt angry at the same time when I was reading this volume. I have the same feeling as Soma’s friends when he is so ambitious and wanted to win against Kuga, one of the Tootsuki Elite Ten members. I’m not looking down on his capabilities but as I continuously reading this volume, how I wish Soma never participate in the festival and set up a booth in front of Kuga.
