In the previous volume (Food Wars Vol. 10), Soma will be facing Mimasaka in a shokugeki challenge with Western meal as the theme of the competition. If Soma wins, Mimasaka will return all the previous winning cooking tools to their owners else Soma needs to quit to become a chef.
When Soma is preparing for the competition, he seeks advice from Erin but she didn’t provide much feedback after tasting the beef stew. Anyway, Soma still continuously experimenting his competition dish with the support of his friends whereas Mimasaka continuously stalking Soma to replicate his dish with the same ingredients. When Mimasaka replicates the beef stew with extreme confident, he never expects Soma will play a strategic game in this competition. The remaining story in this volume will be the match between Hayama and Kurokiba.
I can’t imagine if I read this manga last time following with the release date. That will be a pain to wait for several days or weeks to get the next volume when you can’t wait to know who is the winner between Mimasaka and Soma. Although some readers probably can predict Soma will be the winner again but there will be a lot of questions come to our mind - how is he going to handle the competition, what will be his strategy, how he cooks the dish, and how he avoids his dish being replicated. There are so many questions which you wish to get the answers straight away.
