Food Wars!, Vol. 14: Shokugeki no Soma (Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma #14), Yuuto Tsukuda, Shun Saeki & Yuki Morisaki

cover

Soma and other first year students have been sent to various restaurants to gain experience in real kitchens (Food Wars Vol. 13). The next training place will be Shino’s Tokyo, a new restaurant owned by the 79th Generation Toksuki Academy Alumnus and a previous 1st set of the Elite Ten Council, Shinomiya. Shinomiya was previously challenged by Soma in a shokugeki in order to defend Megumi from his criticism.

Soma feels excited of having the opportunity to work in Shinomiya’s new restaurant. He faces new challenges of learning French cuisine and new techniques in the restaurant. Besides of that, the Head Chef of Shino’s Tokyo, Abel, has a strong dislike for Soma due to his friendship with Shinomiya and his ambitious dream to become a good chef as good as Shinomiya. With his diligence and strong determination, will he able to win his recognition in Shino’s Tokyo?

Also, in this volume, Shinomiya will reveal his reasons of choosing French cuisine for his specialty. Before Soma leaves the restaurant, he prepares a French dish to be judged by Shinomiya. Will his cooking good enough to be appeared in Shino’s menu?

This volume has an interesting content as the main focus is about Soma finding his own direction and specialty instead of randomly cooking whatever he wants. He starts to find out his own weaknesses and trying his best to overcome them. He tries to understand his own limitations and searching for a specialty that he can master with it.
