Light seems over confident with his ability to outthink everyone and has been belittling L's proteges. Light's plan is getting out of control no matter how hard he tries to manuever it. And now Near and Mello are working together to break the taskforce apart and expose Kira from within, will Light able to handle the pressure and the strain of maintaining three different personalities be the beginning of his end?
This volume has shown more of Near's and Mello's strength as what I wished when I was reading the previous volume – Death Note, Vol. 8: Target (Death Note #8). I liked Near's analytical skill and Mello's strategic skill. The combination of their outstanding skills is a challenge and raises the pressure for Light as both L, and Kira. However, this volume still haven't change my feeling of missing L. No matter what happens, they can't replace L.
