The battle against Tsukasa Eishi continues from the previous chapter (Food Wars Vol. 19). After being caught by Souma when they are hiding behind to watch the competition, Erin and Hisako become the judges to decide the winner of the battle. Will Souma needs to join the Central and become Tsukasa’s underling?
In a different story, Megumi and Mito able to defend their respective societies – The Donbury Research Society and The Regional Specialties Society from being closed down by the Central. As the story goes further, the "Promotion Exam" will decide whether the first year students will be able to continue their cooking journey in this academy. However, everyone feels so pessimistic with the new rule of the exam.
Before the "Promotion Exam" begins, Erina opens up about her personal struggles and tells Souma about the first day when she met his father, Saiba who has changed her views about food.
His strengths lie in the fact that he will never ever give up, and his infinite thirst for knowledge and insatiable curiosity. That is what lets him do things that others wouldn’t even dare think about doing.
I feel those who only recognise one "right" way will never go beyond and reach truly amazing things.
The journey’s no fun if you know where you’re going.
